Bionx wiring

hey yall

does anybody know anything about a bionx 350w hub motor

I know electric bikes and motors brushless and brush pretty well

but this thing makes absolutely no sense to me ok it started out as ped-elec but my friend tried to modify the controller and of course broke it

he wants non ped-elec throttle on demend

but the motor wiring are these brush or brushless because normally a brushless has 3 phase wires and 5 sensor wires this thing has 2 big power wires and 5 small wires I aint never seen that

it does nothing if I jump the 2 big wires to the battery but heat the wires

I have lots of brush and brushless controllers but it don't make any sense on the wiring

what do we do other than throwing it in the scrap pile

first BIONX drive is software driven.
On power up console has to make handshake with motor controller, that is for sure.
You already destroyed controller inside motor most probably.
Placing controller inside motor make a lot of sense. Thank about all those sensors - temperature, overcurrent, overvoltage, etc.

A new BionX controller... If you want/think it's worth it. If nothing is F'd but the old controller, a new one is about the only thing that will make things work, as said before the system is communicating with all the parts, motor, battery, console, throttle, and you can't just bypass any one part, or use a different type of part...

I very doubt BIONX or whoever would sell just motor controller which is INSIDE motor.
Also buying just BIONX complete motor/controller is next to impossible.

There was a company that purchased BionX spares when they were liquidated; check here or endless sphere to locate them. Perhaps they can help. Also, I think someone (maybe ebikesca) can set the motor up with a non-proprietary controller. Their systems were excellent (IMO), but complicated and proprietary.

Yeah, I know this thread was last posted to a month ago, BUT...

Check the youtube channel of Grin Technology. They have a video about reviving a bionx motor to run without their proprietary problems.
