Was wondering if anyone has participated in this event before? Here's a link It's a charitable event to bicycle to a variety of grocery stores, buy and carry non-perishables to donate to a local shelter.
I'm curious about the experience for those who've participated. Is it a timed thing? Does anybody watch over your bike & groceries while you're shopping?
This looked like a fun way to help others, so am very curious

We did it once here in DC. It's basically an alley cat race,except instead of checkpoints you have to hit grocery stores. Winner is the first one to complete the list and cross the finish line.

It's easy. You show up, grab a manifest, figure out the best route, and start riding when we say "GO!". Make sure you've got a bag and a lock, because you're going to need to lock up to run into grocery stores.
