Decal wanted
Hi All:
I recall seeing on this forum, many months back, reference to some fellow who is known to create quality decals. I would like to know who this person is.
My mother passed away this summer and bequeathed her savings to the three of us, her children, with the specific instructions that we use the money for something fun, not against bills, etc. My wife, God love her, told me to get that bike I wanted, which was a Kona Sutra. When I mentioned this on another forum, someone suggested that I get a decal to put on the bike with my mum's name or something so that I could remember her via the bike. I liked the idea so that is why I'm looking for this person's name.
Thanks,
Jules

I would be cool if you have a picture of your mom riding a bike, any kind of bike, so she can be seen on the decal having fun too.

For $10 or less, you can get this done quickly and easily. You aren't looking for a decal to match a manufacturer - you just want a name.
First LINK I pulled up. There are many more - even ebay .
Another w/ inventive name: bikenames.com

Wonderful idea Jules. Also consider this. Most any sign shop will have, should have, a machine for computer cutting letters and numbers out of vinyl sign making film. Essentially what the online outfits mentioned above offer. They might just cut you out a few small letters in your mom's name and you take it home and remove the backing paper, rub it down on the frame, remove carrier paper and you're done. Clear coat if you want.

But, you know what I'd do if it was my mom? Find one of those sign painters or custom truck lettering guys and have him hand letter her name in small script on the top tube, close to the head tube. Yeah.

Jules, I'm sorry for your loss. I don't usually frequent this sub-board, but the thread topic caught my eye. You could get a "Pen Touch" pen from a craft supplies place (like Michael's) for about $4 (it's permanent & can go on most surfaces) and hand letter your mom's name or a special saying or verse that's meaningful to you onto your bike.

Quality Decals
Didn't ask his permission but I don't think he'll mind me naming him...but Azorch, a member here does incredible one-off decals. He provided me with some French Reynolds 531 waterslide decals he created. Incredible detail. I'd at least contact him for input. He is a trained artist and educator and a nice guy to boot.
