That table is great! I like the scale of your floor, too, not something you see every day. Is that oiled oak?
The apartment I owned in Sweden had oiled oak "fishbone parquet" floors from the 1880s. It was a chore to keep them in good shape, even as a single guy with no kids or pets. It sounded like a ghost followed me everywhere.

So, I'll start off by posting it here, since it was truly a great local "catch", the CL ad was originally posted a couple weeks ago (and quickly removed), and it's a Bridgestone.
1992 Bridgestone XO-1, very original, very low miles, as purchased this afternoon.
Oh, and a Silca floor pump came with it.

Ouch! That is funny, and reminds me of the time I pulled every single drawer out of my dresser! Good thing to keep in mind though, the base is super narrow. The table is crazy versatile though. It can be as small as 26” or as large as 96”. We will use extensions for holidays I think.

I needed a new 8 speed cassette so went by the LBS. They sometimes have a pile of bikes out on the parking lot, most of the times it's some sort of newer stuff but not repairable and/or not profitable for them to do so.
This time, there was a Motobecane on top of the pile. Mwoah, all those French sizes... But after better looking it had a shimano 600 arabesque group (minus brakehandles) on it. No wheels, but there were some rigida wheels nearby. Yep, those fit. Rear has a wobble but it makes transporting easier.
No saddle or seatpost, or steeringpost too.
It's a Motobecane Grand Sport in blue, size is 59 cms. Wich is a tad too small (fortunately) so I'll be using the group for my Union Saporro build, a frame with rust but a frame that will fit and take normal components.

Univega Ital Sport, 1985
Found a nice old UV on CL. A very nice elderly gentleman said he was the original owner, and that the bike had less than 500 miles on it, which I can confirm by the shape of the freewheel teeth and the crankset. My research had lead me to believe that Univega (Lawee) only had this model for one year (1985). Maybe he bought an overstock of the Campy Triomphe components for his Italvega bikes and had to get a return on stock just sitting in the warehouse. I'm impressed and feel lucky to find an oddball bike like this. Who puts Campy on a Japanese frame, anyway? I'm going to clean it up, slap some new meats on it, and it becomes part of my personal stable. Enjoy the pics!

Yeah, I figure those prices are like the $2000 dollar Raleigh super courses. I know the table is semi valuable. I figure sub $1,000 in its current condition maybe even sub $500. Either way, $45 can’t be beat! I’m not going to sell it though. It’s what I would have dreamt to own but cannot normally afford.

The "slipped off the hook" of the day.... Performance is not the sexiest brand but this was a Tange Prestige frame with full 600. Up for $30, lasted about half an hour. Godspeed you sleeper hit.

FWIW, Double-check the "french-ness" of that one. I have a '78 Motobecane Grand Record-- same model, a year earlier (Graphics are the same, color is different). It has a Swiss BB. And despite the Huret rear dropouts, it has a SunTour stop for the derailleur. Only the main tubes were spec'd Vitus 172 according to the catalog in '78, but on my model all of the stays are stamped "172"-- a frame of French steel.
Your model looks like the 1979 GR according to the best source for Motobecane catalogs. According to the source, Motobecane switched to the Arabesque, Shimano 600 group for that year-- lucky you.

Someone near my mtb trail was offering the Trek parts for free. Took them just for the Rolfs and handlebar as the frame is way too big for me. 60cm so I'll probably sell it after a good clean-up.

Found these three: 1999 Bianchi Brava, an old Jamis, and a 1974 Follis French Tandem (Follis is after it was cleaned and tuned up).
Someone had them in storage for a long time and wanted to get rid of them. Will post photos once I am allowed to.

So far the only things to get binned are going to be the chain, seatpost and a few other rusty bits. I'll clean it up and see what's what before going forward. The chainstay chrome rust is the worst of it.
