The serial number won't tell us what your bike it. Is there a model name on your bike?

Probably August 1983
the first letter is the month, the second letter is the year... interpolating a bit as T was 1982.
I had a Schwinn Cruiser bought new in 1982 with the HT serial number as the start. Soon after though Chicago production ended as I recall.
gets beyond me as I did not keep track at all of the the bikes made in the South.

Pic assist:
A photo of the drive side would be more helpful.
The '83 catalogs online show some models with the old-school oval head badge, and some with the coin-size round head badge. They're also incomplete, and don't include the electro-forged models like the Varsity and Continental. This one appears to be a Varsity or something similar. Is there a number on the head badge itself? It will be quite small, stamped in fine numbers, probably sideways.
I hope the cats don't play with that trap.....
