As for the ride, this was easily one of the most difficult I've ever done - only 44 miles but 6180 ft climbing and nine miles of washed out road on the shoulder of Big Frog Mountain left me exhausted.
I was exploring a side road and surprised a group of about eight boars! They seemed as startled as I was and I didn't stick around to take pictures.
Burned through two bottles and a 70 oz camelbak in about four hours and used a Sawyer filtration system to filter water from a beautiful mountain stream.
This is what the washed out road looks like including a four mile descent. You would have hated me if you had come.

It's been a while since I posted. I rode a personal single month record of 805 miles for May (bike month), so I have a few fixie pics to share I suppose.

Where have you been? Man, good to see you post again and I actually thought about you today when I saw a fully enclosed custom built bicycle on the trail.
Yes, the bridge is Rockmart. The jeep trails are north of the Silver Comet Trail west of Rockmart, exploring some of the wildlife management areas.
I hope you continue to post and let us know what you have been up to.

last month has been tough as i am sick and not able to ride.
it is nice to see you guys still ride and share the photos. i particularly enjoy yours since the Silver Comet is one of my favorite trails, second only to the New River trail in Virginia.

Left my house by bike at 8:30 this morning and got home at 10 at night. Worked a bit in the morning, then spent the rest of the day riding around the city and meeting up with a friend for good conversation and dinner.
Explored a new path off the main river that often made me feel like I'd left the city completely, despite still being smack in the center of it:

Although Korean food is fantastic, western food here is usually a disaster. But this place is awesome:

Central Seoul. There's a bunch of fixie kids fooing around here, but I spend around 20 hours/wk around the main bicycle paths and almost never see anyone over 15 years old on a fixed gear. Maybe I'm missing something, but all the fixed gear shops cater to the young crowd, too, and their higher-end offerings are from like Leader and State, with a smattering of Cinellis thrown in. All the young adults I see who are serious about bikes at all are on ultra high-end road bikes, but maybe I'm just not looking in the right place?
Anyway, got a few new pics from recent rides.
Took a looong ride a couple of weekends ago; the rivers just keep going and going:
Lots of nice little spots to relax:
The spelling is correct under the current official Romanization scheme, but under the circumstances I might have made some exceptions (the proper pronunciation is like sah-tahn):
This past weekend, just trying to blend in:
Feeling more confident:

From the looks of your photos, it looks like you make a few stops along the Han River. Do you ever go to Banpodaegyo (Banpo Bridge aka Rainbow Bridge)? A lot of fixed gear fanatics tend to make that their pit stop (at least it was 4 years ago when I was still there). Also to Color Park near 63 City in Yeouido.
Speaking of looking in the right places, check out this site (if you haven't already): ½Ì±Û±â¾î : ³×À̹ö Ä«Æä . It's basically the fixed gear world in Korea, online. Not sure how good your Korean is, but I'm sure you can figure out where the "search" button is and if you type down "NJS" you'll find a good number of bikes/parts. Note: member GOODENOUGH has some of THE best parts. Bring a towel for your drool.
