Yeah - you're right, I may have gone a bit overboard hammering on the "I'm in Florida" routine

In my defense, all that s**t is just around the corner from my home so it is too gawddam easy to hop off the bike and snap a few pics there.

Next time something different, I promise...hehe

Do you like the straight bar more than a 7 degree bar around curves?

Thanks, it's a great bike. It's a 61cm but the camera angle made the head tube look long.

I am not especially tall (6'0") but I have long legs. I started out riding 58cm frames and it took me a few years trawling CL for vintage steel before I learned I was much more comfortable on 61-63cm. Every so often I think about buying a modern frame online but never go through with it for fear the top tube will be too long.

Ahhh fair enough. But yeah we want to see something different. There has gotta be something else in Florida, right?

Sorry, I've never had a riser bar with any degree of pull-back on this bike so I have no way of making a comparison...

I have a riser bar on a mountain bike single speed, and I feel it could be a great touring bike. But, by 7 degree bar I was referring to a bent bar without a rise. I had one on a fixie and liked it. I like the concept of a straight bar too but I think the bent bar may sometimes help with sight lines, curves, and quick moves. I have a drop bar on a fixed gear setup and like that also.

Looking good. What are you using to attach the bottle cages to the frame?

Thanks man! I am pretty happy with it as well. I wish I would've splurged more on a better wheelset, but there is always next time. I am still so giddy with how the fork came out.

These -> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I saw the angled attachment piece and it looked like it would work well on the diamond shaped tubing, and turns out it works great! The are velcro, but they stay in place really well. I like that I can put them on in about 45 seconds if I need them but leave them of for daily commutes. The bottle cage screws in to the mount, so I just leave it all together when removing.

Ha, yeah they look almost as if they were designed for the shape of your tubing. My tubing is round so they may still twist a little, who knows. Using a saddle mounted cage which works OK but would prefer something on the frame.

I had a saddle mounted Tacx cage holder, but no matter what cage/bottle I used, it always popped out on bumps. It got really annoying having to turn around to pick up a water bottle. I think I left a few lying on the road too.

The rubber is pretty sticky on these and holds on to the frame pretty well. I wrapped the frame in electrical tape under the straps to give them a little more bite and to protect the frame a little and they dont budge at all. It is certainly worth the $11

Do you ever have trouble getting the bottle in/out of the seat tube cage? It seems a lot higher up than it would typically be on most frames.

It is pretty high, but the bottle comes out ok. Probably due to the type of cage that is mounted there. A shorter bottle, or a sidemount cage would be better I'm sure. I would take it down lower, but then it would have to strap onto the seat tube wheel cutout, and I am not sure if it would slip. It works fine for what I need it to do. I only use the seat tube bottle if I am going over 50 miles. Otherwise it's none, or just the down tube mount.

Oh yeah, I didn't notice the seat tube cutout. Makes more sense now. Personally, I don't even use my seat tube cage very much typically. After I empty one bottle, I usually switch the full one into the down tube cage and put the empty on the seat tube.

I usually have them filled differently. Roctane in the 24oz down tube cage, and water in the 20oz seat tube cage. I can't fit anything bigger than 20oz in the seat tube mount, but it sure as hell beats holding bottles in the jersey pockets. lol
