First 5k T-Shirt Decision

I'm running my first 5k on the 31st/1st (R.I.T.N.Y. Run), and plan on buying a shirt to wear specifically for this event.

Here are the two I've narrowed it down to:

Both images will be on the back of the shirt only.

The 'doctor' shirt has a slight advantage because I could wear it when I'm not in a race. The other won has an advantage because it's clearly going to piss people off and compel them to run faster.

Which would piss you off more if you saw it on a fat runner ahead of you? Which would give you the bigger laugh?

Neither shirt does anything positive for me...I'd go with a plain synthetic shirt (no cotton) - and would allow my demeanor to speak for itself. Have fun, encourage others, and be thankful. My $0.02.

I laughed at both....maybe my sense of humor is twisted but I say wear what you want and I think either would be fine.

Runners are a different crowd. This shirt showed up earlier this year at a marathon, and went all over the internet:

(says: 50, Fat, Diabetic, Ahead of You)

You can look at that and go "Man, he's DOING IT! GO HIM!". or you can look at it and go "I am NOT going to be beaten by THAT guy!" and kick it into the next gear. Or, you can look at it, get discouraged, and quit.

As with everything life throws at you, it's how you respond that's important.

What I _really_ wanted was to make a custom shirt with a big arrow pointing to the left that said "PASS", and a big arrow pointing to the right and down to the ground that said "FAIL". Not enough time to get that one, unfortunately.

I laughed at both, but imho the "I'm Not Last" is the better of the two.

+1. And just because someone is ahead of you doesn't necessarily mean something. Most of the people on our x-country trip didn't like the leader. I really couldn't stand him, and he knew it. One day, after a few us us stopped for water 20 miles before camp, he jumped on his bike, said boastfully that he'd see us at the campground and then took off. He ended up getting arriving about 20 seconds before I did. He made sure to mention that to me. My response: "Yeah, but I started ten minutes after you did."

I voted for "I'm not last" because I'm always last or the slowest in any race - bike, by foot, camel - so for the sake of my super delicate psyche and ego (yeah yeah, I'll work on it), the not last would be my choice.

Both are funny.
Neither would annoy me - that takes a lot of doing
Perhaps on next years shirt you can get on the left sleeve "I'm not worthy" and on the right "Faster than you."

For me, I'd only need the left sleeve on any shirt/jersey I own. Went for a run the other day and a guy with those tennis balls on the bottom of his walker yelled out 'On your left'

I've seen clydes and athenas run past me in races and I've run past them. What their t-shirt said didn't matter to me. The only thing that motivated me to run faster was an awesome booty to stare at that was running only slightly faster than me. In some cases, I've even slowed down for admiration.
