dual pivot brakes (im not sure if @garlic_rice still needs them tho, hes got first dibs)
Also, as the former owner of said 600 group, I can vouch for its awesomeness. Eerily quiet, and super-smooth shifting with the DT shifters. I've got DA7400 with STIs now and I want to cry every time i upshift up front, makes me remember why I set up that Trek as 1x8.
I'm not into bikes enough to get bike tattoos, but if i was, i'd get the tricolor 600 stripe for sure.

Congrats, looks fun! Also looks like it was well taken care of.
If I may suggest: townie bars with Paul thumbies. Buy all the 600 from @Mumonkan minus brakes

Can't tell if I need a setback saddlepost or I just hate the stock seat on the new MTB. I'm leaning towards the seat but then the other part of me just wants to buy stuff.

I rode the new Gunnar on rollers for the first time today. I did "10 miles" in about 30 minutes.
I'm running 46x18 on the Gunnar so it's a bit more challenging than what I usually run on the track bike which is 48x16 on the rollers.
I have the Kreitlers with the headwind fan so there is a decent amount of resistance.
I was going to do this last week, but when I dragged out the rollers, I discovered the belts needed replacing.
The terror of first time on the rollers this winter never gets old.

Had a good cry over Bowie and did 44 miles to burn off some steam.

What he said about being restless, always wanting to get on to the next project, really hit home to me. My father used to say "finish what you started" and I couldn't stand it. Was always thinking ahead to the next thing.
Bowie and Pink Floyd were always too somber for me. Really respected guys who were into them though because they seemed to be either totally into it or not at all. There didn't seem to be a middle ground. Bowie seemed like an intense experience for those guys.
I also respect how Bowie knelt and prayed the Our Father for AIDS victims on stage at a Freddy Mercury tribute concert. I didn't know that until yesterday. From what I'm reading his lyrics became more spiritual later in his career.

Painfully average.

I went up a super long hill in a major headwind in the cold without enough sleep in me and a day of work. Pretty happy going about 4 miles uphill (with a little over .5 of a mile not included of some downhill) all that taken into account and me not having ridden fixed up that hill in a long time!
