Should I Patch My Tubeless Tire?

A few weeks ago I finally got a puncture while running Tubeless. As I hoped, the sealant in my tires was able to plug the hole up allowing me to ride home with minimal issues.

I meant to get either a plug or a patch kit, however I noticed that since the puncture the sealed hole has been completely sealed up and is holding air as if it never got punctured. I know sealant is supposed to patch small holes but I didn’t think it would completely patch up the flat.

So I guess do I need to get the tire fully patched up or is this fine to keep riding? Here’s a picture of the puncture:

I don't have much experience with tubeless but would expect that with low pressure tires like that the sealant should hold. If you have to patch up every little puncture it would seem kind of pointless running tubeless.

Just change the tape every other ride or so and call it good as long as it holds air.

Huh! What is the electrical tape for? If the hole is sealed leave it no need to patch the tire.

If that cut stays sealed I wouldn't bother plugging it.

Sorry the tape was just for reference so I knew where the hole was. It's a small hole so I didn't know where to check and see where I go the flat so I put it there so I could see where to check easier.

I’ve probably got about 10 punctures in the 4 tubeless tires currently on my 2 tubeless wheel sets. I’ve plugged just one of them, with a dynaplug, when it started leaking again after it sealed once. All the others just rely on the sealant and the tires hold air just fine.
