well no more rideing for me
for a few years my vision was off. at first i just assumed my light bulbs need to be brighter i couldnt build computers any more since i just didnt see clear enough. then it seemed if i was seeing double. which succked i couldnt even enjoy tv and it was hard to read print. then it seemed as if my glasses had a pice of dirt on them but when i took my glasses off i still saw the dirt ive walked in front of a few cars. i went to eye dr today i forgot what they called it but im stuck with it if i understood them

Sorry to hear that, friend. If there are no affordable alternatives, could you partner with someone and ride tandem?

If you have Keratoconus (which shows similar symptoms) like i do, contact lenses may be a solution. I see double and triple blurred vision with glasses, and had a lot of trouble seeing when it was dark with lights reflecting in all directions through my cornea. The contact lenses cover your irregularly shaped cornea and fill in the gaps with your natural eye lubricants, giving a nice evenly curved shape for the light to focus through, offering a remedy to the blurred images, and also helping a bit with the light sensitive issues.
Maybe this will help - good luck.

I had two retinal tears last year about two or three weeks apart. It sucked. Both times enough blood entered my vitreous that my vision was completely obscured in that eye for several days, and then severely occluded for weeks. I honestly felt pretty awful and helpless at first, but I had a good retina doctor and I have more or less normal vision (with some staining on the back of my vitreous).

Hoping for the best possible outcome for you. Please get a second or third opinion (or more). It looks like there are treatments for PVD. Of course every case is different.

A quick google search says that posterior vitreous detachment is treatable and "rarely leads to permanent loss of vision." See a specialist and get more opinions now!

@windchaser, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I can't even imagine what you're going through, but I hope you are able to come out the other side.

Dude, have you been to a Retina specialist or not? If not, go now. From the info you've provided it seems like your condition is treatable but you HAVE to go to a retina doc, not just a regular eye doctor.
Or you could keep posting here about it.
