Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I dunno, it just always seems to be a struggle. Typing in the location you want just seems to work a lot better.

I am not a gamer just regular applications.

I actually have 8.1 with the "2 worlds" I use the standard world which is very win7 ish. The other "world" is epic fail imo.

Win 10 was released a while back now. When is win 11 coming down the pike?

Edit: 7/29/15 release date so maybe a few more years to push win 10.

I had a cycling dream last night. Details are hazy but it involved a flat tire and angst about whether it’s safe to use a boot in a sidewall blowout.

Yesterday was a beautiful fall day... well, except for the morning, which is when I would usually ride. Instead, it was pretty much family time all day. It was great, but I was still a little from not getting in a ride.

Slowly suiting up for a ride this morning, but damn is it dark out at 7am these days.

Either you are totally misunderstood, you get a restaurant 2,000 miles away from where you are, or the On Star agent keeps you waiting for 10 minutes while they display their ineptitude. But just type in the restaurant name and street name on your phone navigation app and the right place invariably pops up. I understand if you are driving that the voice method would be attractive, but it never works. Just stop and type in the details. My phone navigation connects to the car navigation screen, so it is a perfect way to do it. Easy typing on the phone and easy display on the dashboard.
Yep. I recently asked my onboard system to take me to 'Complete Home Medical' and I got 'Complete Home Remodeling' and second choice was 'Home Medical Services' in a city 150 miles away.

To be honest, though, when I just asked for medical equipment, my destination was the first place on the list. I guess it pays to ask for a general item rather than a specific name.

We got a new computer. I took the HD out of the old one and will see if I can transfer data with it. There are two connectors, I am guessing one is data and one is power. I need to find plugs for both on new computer, right?

So the new computer is an HP Pavillion. Recall that I believe the old computer failed due to a fault in the boot section of the hard drive. I really would like to try to transfer all my data from the old hard drive to the new computer.

Step 1, easy peasy, take the lid off the old computer and disconnect the hard drive. Done. I note the ribbon cables in the OLD computer have multiple outlets for additional hard drives. I figure open the new computer, plug in the cables, and see if it works.

Step 2, fail. Open up new computer. There does NOT seem to be any outlets to plug in the old hard drive, unless I muck around big time and try to disconnect new hard drive.

Suggestions??

They sell cables (cheap) that connect to the contacts of the hard drive and the USB of the new computer. It makes the hard drive an auxiliary to the new computer. Amazon to the rescue. Just search for "data transfer cable hard drive". Couldn't be easier.

The bad news: riding across the Golden Gate bridge was cold with mist blowing horizontally, and wet. Did I mention cold?
The good news: riding across the GG bridge was cold with very few bobbleheads. (That's a technical term for first-time cyclists on a rental bike.)
