GoPro PLUS - Are you using it?

Anybody out there using GoPro PLUS? Looks like cheap insurance, plus the storage and discount and SD card with new cameras ... all seems to be a good deal. I'd like to hear if anybody has experience with this program. Thanks!

At this point I'm surprised they aren't just selling multi-year monthly contracts where you get a "free" camera.

does the "storage" mean "hosting" as-in sharing like we can do w/ youtube? are they hoping to compete w/ youtube/google?

My understanding is that this is simply cloud storage. GoPro (all video) files are getting massive. I have a terabit backup file and still dump files regularly to save space.

Vimeo competes with youtube. I think this is mostly backup and anywhere/time sharing and access. You also get camera damage replacement. I bought my camera a year ago and haven't though about it since. Maybe when Gopro 8 comes out?

I have 20 free gigs on some other product I purchased. Like most backups you ignore it until you lose all your data then it become a top priority after the fact.
