White Industries Pedals: Pictures
So I know these aren't "vintage" but I think of them as very "vintage inspired" as a take on the Lyotard Berthet pedals and the SR SP-11 pedals. Also pictured in both sets of pedals are the King Cage toe clips. Every once in a while I get obsessed about certain parts- and even as awesome as the SP-11 pedals are- I was obsessed with the WI pedals- eventually the right amount of money just happened to magically appear, so I got a set.

I'm considering riding these without straps- I never cinch down my toe straps and these King Cage clips are really cool.

This is nifty about the WI pedals- where every other pedal I've seen has the spindle inside a housing- the WI spindle is actually exposed.

Is the spindle tapered the whole way? Or is it non tapered where it comes in contact with the housing/bearings?

I had a pair of White Industries hubs before, that came on a used MTB, but they were pretty badly worn. I know they were very well regarded, in good condition, right up there with King or Phil.

I have a pair of the SP-11s shown at the top, not my cup of tea. I went platform and I am not going back.

I own two pair of White Industries pedals with Bruce Gordon half clips. They certainly are the cats meow.
The pedals are keepers since WI doesn't make them anymore, at least not on their website and Bruce Gordon retired and then passed away.
I only use one pair so I have a spare set just in case.

Cheaper alternative
Those White Industries pedals are definitely beautiful and cool, but quite spendy.
I have these MKS Urban Platforms on a couple bikes and find them very comfy.
At $40 a pair also quite a bit cheaper (1/6 the price?)
