Interesting gravel article

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Interesting gravel article

https://www.bikeradar.com/news/cervelo-aspero-a-series

Notice these quotes: "gravel now provides up to 80 percent of Cervélo’s North American dealers’ drop bar bike sales"

and "But on seriously rough terrain, even using a 40mm tyre you could end up in serious hot water."

I happened to read that article this morning and the 80% stat left me confused. Im shocked that 80% of drop bar bike sales at shops where Cervelo is sold are categorized as gravel bikes.
I live in a state with 70,000mi of gravel and a good bit of gravel bike history and it sure seems like even here a lot of endurance road bikes are still being sold.

Cervelo's "gravel" bike accepts 33 mm tires without much clearance. I've had it a couple years now. When I rode it up Slate Peak - a monumental effort and seriously crappy dirt road - some people at the top were shocked. "Cervelo makes a cross bike now?!?"

Fondo bike really.

Rides real well on pavement too.

Hey after a long day filling cavities nothing helps unwind like a quick spin on gravel!
