A big thank you

This place is great. I am 65 years old and up until a couple years ago the only bicycle I'd ever ridden was a single speed with coaster brakes when I was a kid.
I have obtained so much information and help from all those on this site it amazes me. Thanks again everyone.

When I started bicycling again I stumbled into this place looking into what my bikes were. I learned so much, lusted after so much, learned more, set my sights on bikes that I wanted, learned more about stuff and components and stuff...

The people here never made me feel bad about my bikes- never made me feel bad about my situation or where I was at. That's awesome.

Yup, great folks here, especially on C&V. I've learned a lot just in the three or four years I've been hanging around.

BF is great. I particularly like C&V and 50+, because those hit my own interests.

For advice on VW/Audi cars, my go-to site is Passatworld, which is a similarly rich source of information. That site has saved me a lot of time, frustration, and money. (Both my wife and I studied German in high school, and that is the second language for both of us, but German is arguably the first language in my garage, with a 2001 VW and and a 1996 Audi parked on the floor and three ca. 1960 Viennese Capo bicycles hanging from the rafters.)

I was already an expert when I joined, but having been here a few years, I'm three times the expert I was at first. We all learn a lot here.

I posted something quite similar a few years back, and I'm sure there are plenty more "thank you" threads around here. Always nice to see another.

Couldn't agree more with the OP. It's always a pleasure to read through the posts here; everyday there's something new worth reading.

Also the C&V Strava club is well worth joining - I find looking at other members' rides in other parts of the World fascinating.

Kind of like teenagers, I subscribe to the old saw that the older I get, the smarter my parents and elders were/are.

I saw a bumper sticker recently, "Teenagers, go ahead and take over the world while you know everything, before you realize you don't know anything yet"

Wait until your place is stuffed with classic bikes; the linen closet has gotten converted to a storage area for bike parts and spare tubes; the closets are filled with bike tires; there is a repair stand set up in the living room; the lawn doesn't get cut because you are out on a ride .... we'll get blamed for it!
