Hot deals - post 'em if you got 'em.

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

that's a good find. thanks for post (this is the kind of stuff i come to this thread for). its not my size, but i might have to pull the trigger if it were. (seems like i have a lot of grammar errors here, but to lazy to fix)

one other question: with black friday coming around the bend, does anyone have any experience with specific brands that typically discount at that time (or cyber monday)?

I've bought from PBK before without issue. Never bought these tires from them though, and not positive what the OEM reference actually means in this case -- maybe comes in non-retailing packaging of some sort.

I've bought from them before without issue. That said, the duties and import fees did catch me off guard. So what I thought was a good deal wasn't such a good deal after all.

Curious about this. I ordered about 250$ of stuff from them a month ago. Free shipping, no tax, no fees. When/where did you get charged fees? Maybe it was because of the item you bought?

I haven't kept up on all of the recent international trade happy fun times, but it used to be that you weren't dinged for duty on shipments with a value less than $800.

Probikeit is a bit different than some of the other overseas companies I think.. in that they've actually got a US operation.
From their "Terms" page:
"These terms and conditions ('the Terms') govern the users ('you' or 'your') use of the website www.probikekit.co.uk ('the Website') and your relationship with:

(I) THE HUT.COM LIMITED (TRADING AS WWW.PROBIKEKIT.CO.UK) WHOSE REGISTERED OFFICE IS AT 5TH FLOOR, VOYAGER HOUSE, CHICAGO AVENUE, MANCHESTER AIRPORT M90 3DQ; OR

(II) (A) IF YOUR PURCHASE IS MADE IN UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD) OR CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD) AND PAYMENT IS MADE USING A DEBIT/CREDIT/AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD,WITH THGPP LLC (TRADING AS WWW.PROBIKEKIT.CO.UK) WHOSE REGISTERED OFFICE IS AT 1209 ORANGE STREET, WILMINGTON, COUNTY OF NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE, 19801, USA, OR "

Further example that can be achieved with changing the country/Region settings.. The higher priced view is the Probikeit USA price.

My package definitely shipped from the UK. Tracking showed it shipped from UK went through customs and took over 10 days to get here.

Prices on what I got were cheaper than any other website by a few dollars on each item. (Vittoria Terreno tires for $29 each and a Selle Italia SLR Superflow for $108, deda superzero carbon post for 80$) If they are paying less than that in the UK for these products then they are getting some fantastic deals

I wouldnt order from them unless I got a superb deal and didnt mind waiting for it. Keep in mind this purchase was recent, only a month or so ago.

The shipping and duties was involved with getting the item - a set of Reynolds Assaults - in to Canada. I can't recall the exact fees, but there was some kind of import tax and I believe a FedEx fee handling fee too.

FWIW, we in Mexico get dinged no matter the cost. Sometimes even ordering from Amazon Mexico.

Could it be that they're adding VAT?

Whenever I buy something from CRC I get hit with a small POS transaction fee. When I buy from ProBikeKit I do not.

Has there ever been a deal on Garmin/Wahoo computers? After years of not using one, I might finally bite after the insistence of a friend.

Been (not so) patiently waiting for Black Friday/Cyper Monday since I need a few new goodies such as a helmet and glasses.

There’s a long list of organizations that qualify you for a membership there, they’re all listed on the website.

Considering I do not belong to a single group, not even a cycling club, I will not even bother.

Yeah that's the regular price $249. If you used the code YELLOW40 on the Wahoo site it would have been $209. It appears the sale ended today.
