Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I commute about three days per week by bike, and yesterday the rain felt colder than ever. The only opening it has, given my rain gear, is my bald head. Decided not to wear my balaclava on the way home. Weird how it goes some days.

I like wearing belgian style caps for the colder days. I had a balaclava but felt my breathing was a little restricted during certain efforts lol.

Did a little track bike ride, 18-ish miles. Lubed my chain for the first time in...I dunno, a long time. Got rid of about a million squeaks. *success*

I had to try several balaclavas to find ones I like. I usually have cloth beanies with me, for days like yesterday.

...checked my $20 worth of Powerball tickets and I won my $20 back. Gonna take that as fate telling me the lottery's dumb and offering me a mulligan.

I won the powerball by not playing it! People are so lost in it and think they will win so much money but in reality 99.9999999999999% of those people won't get sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit! Plus the gubbamints going to take a ton of it for taxes and weird satanic rituals, so...

I also have some neck pain and I really want to ride but the neck pain is hampering that.

a woman that works down the hall from me was on the phone with her friend for about half an hour, legit pissed off about how only one person won. ****ing people are so shallow, get over yourself. your life would still be a steaming pile of nothing even if you had a ten trillion dollars.
