Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So I rode, then saw the new maxxis 27.5"x2.8" tires were waiting for me when I got home. They come in a purse, which upon opening I realized was a full on stringy backpack. For each tire. That's how huge plus tires are.

Anyways, I have them on the wheels now, but I can't seat them because I can't find my presta to schrader adapter to use the compressor. Which sucks, and means I won't be riding tomorrow night like I wanted to. I need to get them seated, add the sealant, and then let them sit overnight at way over pressure to stretch those suckers out. As huge as they are, the maxxis tires are in fact way undersized, which is why I'm getting a set of 29er wheels for almost plus tires (2.6"), so I don't have issues with a too low bottom bracket and pedal strikes. Still waiting on those wheels, the tires for them are waiting for me at the post office.

Let's drag anesthesiologists for a while.

That is a bummer.

I dunno what I'm gonna do for road riding in PHX. Might be solely Sunday 5am rides for me.

There's a pretty cool map of Colorado gravel somewhere.

Mine complains a lot sooner than that. And then there's the issue of not being able to stand up straight upon exiting the vehicle. Have a wonderful trip.

My right hamstring (seems like) cramped up during my relatively short drive (350 mi) from Houston to New Orleans yesterday. Even with cruise control. It kept pulling on my back muscles above and calf muscles below. Almost felt like sciatica, but I think it was just muscular.
