Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Winter tires in SoCal mountains - Senderos?

I have WTB Ventures 650B x47 on my gravel rig, here in SoCal. They're great year-round where I live-it's your typical SoCal dry, dusty fire roads and singletrack.. But I will be going up to Big Bear more often since my kid has taken up snowboarding. So, some snow, and muck. Wondering if I should try and "winterize" the bike w something knobbier. Obviously I'm not planning on going into fat-bike territory, just tooling around the area on pavement and hitting a few trails as much as the bike can handle. Senderos? Will it be a big enough of a difference to be worth it?

Edit: I know wider is better, but on my Rove my understanding is 50 is pretty darn tight in the back, which is why I'm looking at the Sendero 47s.
