Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looking for tubeless mid-aero carbon clinchers under $2K

I'm looking for a mid-aero (35-45mm) TUBELESS carbon clinchers (rim brake) for everyday use on my TCR. Wheels I've looked at so far are the Mavic Cosmic Carbon SL UST, and DT Swiss PRC Spline 1400 35mm. Both wheels can be had for well under $2K. What other wheels would you suggest?

Reynold's Assault. Can often be found in the $1200-$1400 region.

FSE are hard to beat!

I like the 35mm, but if you’re willing to go 45:

It did, however I sold the wheels and Ultegra groupset that came with the bike and upgraded to DA 9150, and Campy Bora Ultra 50 wheels. The Bora's ended up going on my new Bianchi while the TCR got a pair uber lightweight, DT Swiss spline 28 Mon Chasarel wheels. While I love these wheels, I wanted something more durable, and aero, for everyday use. The DT's are 1200 grams but super narrow 15mm internal width. I plan on keeping them and using them for special climbs like Gibraltar in Santa Barbara.
So anyways, this morning I ordered the Mavic Cosmic Carbon SL UST wheels that are tubeless, 40mm aero, and have 19mm internal width. These wheels will get a lot of use and hopefully, a lot less punctures.

How's the braking on those compared to other wheels you've owned? Both alloy and any specific carbon tracks, if you could. The prices on those are super attractive but I can't find any details on how well they stop.

Excellent braking. They came with the I think they are called Swisstop. So much better than the old Bontrager Race Wheels. I have not used them in the rain yet but they have to be an improvement.

I have a set of Cosmic Carbon SL UST's. The wheels are very nice.. Tires, not so much. Had 2 punctures in less that a month that had sealant shooting everywhere. Got a replacement tire, same thing happened. Finally went to Maxxis Pardrones and have not had an issue since.

Boyd 28 or 44 tubeless.

Used Roval CLX40's on ebay are going for around $1000. I have a set and they're hard to beat for the money. Just be sure you get 2017-2018 models that are tubeless ready.

Yes, I second the Assaults. I got them on my EVO and love them. Make sure you use the blue cryo pad made for the Reynolds carbon lines.
