Bicycle Museums you have visited or know of?
Sitting here on a snowy morning.
Looking at Jan Heine's most excellent book
The Competition Bicycle, A Photographic History
Vintage Bicycle Press, Seattle.
Made me wonder.
Where in the World would I go to see a history of our sports' machines??
Give us pictures, links, locations of public collections.
And if you write, "There's one around here, .....downtown.". Tell us which Towne!
I can only offer inspiration, no museums.
And hope I have not violated a copyright

Museum and chapel at Ghisallo in Italy: https://www.museodelghisallo.it/en/. Amazing place. The chapel looks like a cross between a church and a bicycle shop, because it's full of the bicycles donated by Giro d'Italia winners.

Given how Roger prices many/most of his truly old vintage bikes, the Budget Bicycle used bicycle "showroom" may as well be a "museum". Yes, technically you _could_ purchase, say, an '82 Stumpjumper at the "closeout" price of $18,000. But such bikes are not exactly flying out the door. That said, there are some beauties there, some oddballs, along with a lot of marvelous old signs and adverts. Just no tasteful little informational plates next to each item.
Located on Regent St. in Madison WI. If you're in town this Saturday for the bike swap, and not daunted by the weather, it could be a eye-candy side trip.

I can think of two places close by with a lot of historic bikes - Recycled Cycles in the U district and I have never been but hear good things about classic Cycles on Bainbridge Island. I have also heard that that River City Cycles in Portland - I think the downtown store - has lots of historic bikes but the PDX folks can speak to that better than I can.
I have the hardcover of Rebour the bicycle illustrations of Daniel Rebour that I got myself a s birthday gift a few years ago I like to thumb through for classic road touring bikes.

If one were on Seattle's Eastside and beyond, a good location, that could accommodate a rotating collection of fine Bicycle Art, might be between east Redmond and North Bend. Favoring toward N.Bend.
Mind you, I'm not against private bicycle collections.
Private and large collections of vintage parts grinds my grain a little more. But it's a tough world with all types of collectors. Hence, museums.

Lane Automotive Museum in Nashville, TN, is obviously a car museum but has a rather nice bicycle wing. I'm guessing 2000 to 2500 square feet for the bike part. (warning: that was 4 years ago, I presuming still in place)

Strong Walker
The "Deutsches Museum" in Munich is a huge museum for all things techological (think Smithsonian). It is spread out to several locations in the city, the "land transport" collection ("Verkehrszentrum") covers bicycles, trains and cars and is well worth a visit. https://www.deutsches-museum.de/en/v...m/collections/
(those interested in aviation should make sure to visit the Flugwerft Schleissheim, a truly amazing air and space collection located on the edge of town)
The "Technikmuseum Sinsheim" close to Heidelberg as a mindblowing affair in itself, and hosts a nice cycling collection as well. (Yes, that is a Tu144 in front of the concorde, and not a scale model either. They also have a "Buran")
