Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sorry, been away ,working on hot rods. Helping my parents. And occasionally riding my bike. And working when I can't avoid it.
Been driving my Firebird to and from work for a couple weeks now. 5 years building this thing. It's coming along. The tune is being persnickety, but its getting better slowly.
Going to start ordering sterio components for it shortly, which is convenient....since I blew the front speakers in the Camaro.
Cars.....

Shoveler duck, no. Smoked oysters, yes. And far too much liver and onions growing up. Mom and Dad loved it. Then the grocery store where Mom shopped started selling chicken livers in a tub, and they were delighted. Me? Not so much.

So, not big on liver. Kidneys, OTOH.....

AndI really prefer my oysters raw, if they're Chincoteagues.

I still think the Saturn is better.
Next time he should park the McLaren. I don’t think there’s a bike rack that can fit on it though

Illinois is similar. Deer can be "claimed" if you hit one with your car. In fact, I'm pretty sure another can take it, too.

Agree that no way someone would hit one on purpose. Corn fed deer can total a car easily.

For the new car, he has a suction cup rack (sea sucker I think?) on the roof.

I can see how that could be a challenge with a convertible. Nice problem to have!

A moose or elk can total you and your car. Don't think antelope are much of a problem. Never seen one close to a road. They have amazing eyesight (their eyes are roughly the size of an elephant's eyes in a much smaller body), and they tend to stay far away from people and moving objects. I was photographing a few way off in the field in SD. They spotted me right away and became wary. Fun fact: The Pronghorn Antelope has the second fastest top speed of any land mammal on the planet. Over distance it can out pace the cheetah.

Enormous nostrils/ nasal cavity/ everything heading into their lungs, as I recall. I read about them back in my XC days. Fastest sustained land speed in the animal kingdom, yes.

These guys were the least skittish pronghorn I've ever seen. They stayed there 10 yards away while I setup camp and they continued grazing and keeping an eye on me 'til the sun went down, and I'm guessing all night long since they were still there milling around and grazing when I got up in the morning.

My only liver experience was when I was a fry cook at Chicken Express. Did not like them at all. The marinade is salt, MSG, and garlic, and then they were fried in beef fat. Probably the best possible way to make them not so liverish, but they're still gross .

The worst part about them is that they would pop in the oil, so we had a pan that we would put over the fryer to block hot oil from spraying us. Every once in a while you would forget to put it on and get showered in a spray of previously ~350° oil. I got burned so much at that job I barely even noticed it anymore.

I do like their gizzards though
