Met my goal, and so happy about that especially since I had surgery and spent the rest of the summer recovering. I had gotten to 40 miles a day before my surgery and felt great after my rides; today I still have trouble syncing my breathing with my riding, my body is sore after I ride and I just don't feel as strong as I did. I know I have to work through it, but gonna keep my same goal for October until I can get fully back into the groove, it may be tough to make my goal this coming month as it does tend to rain quite a bit in October here. Still, gonna give it my best shot! Thanks for all your support!!

Had a more adventurous ride planned, but mechanical difficulties (rear wheel went out of true AGAIN) made me conclude it was better to not get too far from home. Only need to do 35 miles tomorrow to hit my number, it's lookin' good. Off to the bike shop (after a shower) to get this fixed, and hopefully it will stay fixed.

And I am done for the month. Last week was beset with doctoring (and poor weather). Monday was "air out the new Skycamp Mini" day...a bit of a tussle. Tomorrow is "wait for the delivery of the replacement fridge for the garage I ordered (and paid for) back in June. I'll get a delivery window early morning, but still have stuff to move to coolers and then move back after the thing shows up. So my vast plan for 500 miles in September did indeed become half-vast:

I'm done for the month, too - winds projected to be well over 15 mph tomorrow.

173 miles this month; goal was 175. I'm OK with that, since I cracked 1,000* today, with a 22+ mile ride, in the high 50s and winds 10-15. Alas, I dressed for the projected low 60s and felt cold, with 3 layers on top and 2 on the bottom. Man, I used to ride in shorts and a long sleeved shirt on a day like today. I used to be faster, too.

Goal for October: 100 miles. Should do 1100-1200 this year, less than the 1500 mile original goal, but I never expected to have to take a month off for a pacemaker insertion to heal.

Congratulatiosn to all who git out on your bikes.

* originally I wrote '100', In fact, I meant that I cracked 1,000 miles for 2020 yesterday.

I know how you feel .
Five years ago I had Prostate Cancer surgery and bladder reconstruction.
It was awhile before I could get comfortable on a bike .
I don’t know if it was the surgery or my age catching up with me , but I no longer have the strength and endurance I used to have .
And it takes so long to get over even a small injuries.
Good luck with your recovery , I hope you find strength again .

Wanted to get 200 for the month so I went out and froze my butt off prior to getting drunk before the debate. 2nd time this month/in my life that I've averaged over 15mph on my standard route.

I generally do over a 1000 miles per month given that I ride every day, often 20-50 miles just commuting and for pleasure and make an effort to do several long rides of 60-100 miles every few weeks. Oddly enough I don't really track myself, I don't currently use a cycling computer or Strava. I have thought about doing this and this post has gotten me thinking about my daily riding and a plan to better keep track of my riding goals.

Cooler, less humid weather has moved in - albeit a bit windy on the return - a reminder that FL winter is coming. Missed yesterday due to podiatrist appointment and a cortisone shot on a painful bunion (bummer). Call it a wrap for September - a decent mileage month and a new bike in the stable! Thanks to all the folks on this thread for motivating me to get out!
