Bike stuff on-line ?

I used to use Performance and Nashbar a lot for bike stuff but not now. What do you use now for your on-line stuff ?

Definitely search. I do a lot of research for just about every part or gadget I buy for my bike. Sometimes only a few places keep that item in stock. But Jensonusa.com still my fav.

needed a smaller, lighter, bike rack to carry a mtb & got another unit off craigslist last night for $45. didn't fall off the car this morning so I guess it's ok
lots of commodity type stuff or small parts off amazon incl some tires & fenders
other tires from biketiresdirect
some hard to find, specialty, used stuff, off ebay
specialty fender parts from unique vendors which I can't think of right now

What others have said: Amazon, Chain Reaction, Competitive Cyclist, BikeTiresDirect, Ebay.

Shockingly, Walmart actually has a fairly good selection of relatively high end cycling - specific stuff at great prices if you're willing to plow their endless SKUs. For example, they typically have the best US price on an Ultegra group (out of stock now, I just checked).

I use these to search for a good search site, then use that good search site to find what I want.

seriously- nashbar has been limited for a couple years now and rarely had good prices or inventory on components.
don't use a specific retail site- just Google what you want and look at the results. Makes way more sense.

I haven't used those two in a decade.

I go with the UK online retailers ... and Torpedo7 ... and Pushys.

Ebay, Amazon, Modernbike, JensonUSA. I ordered a set of replacement shifters from Aliexpress last month, should see them today according to the tracker. Good price at 40% less than most and hopefully the right product.

I'm all over the place.

Wiggle and Merlin/Chain Reaction were my go-to for components, though that might be changing. I also like Wiggle's apparel offerings.

Ebay for random things like tires. Wheel and Sprocket and Ben's deliver quickly, since they're not far away. I've purchased a few things from Bikewagon, and a few random used saddles, etc. from individuals.

Amazon can be okay from time to time. Steep and Cheap sometimes has good deals on things like helmets, socks, and other accessories.

On the topic of search engines...IMO Google became crap for shopping about a decade ago (sponsored listings, prohibited items), and if I really want to do a deep search to compare prices on an item, I'll start with Duck Duck Go. This often brings up random smaller retailers with an online presence, vs. Google's display of the big players. You just have to watch for spammy sites.

I need to get into this more! Though Bike 24 is now owned by Wiggle/Chain Reaction, is it not?

Sadly yes, but that is a relatively recent thing and I haven't yet noticed a decline in their massive range or very good prices.

Universal. And the Germans for the stuff I can’t get in the US.

I almost always give my LBS the first shot at my business before I go online.
