1920’s Ice Cream vendor bike..... sort of 😄

My gf found this on CL in a nearby town and thought it would look great in the house. The seller described it not-quite-accurately as being 4’ long and a fully functioning bike. We had the impression it was a full size reproduction.
Not quite .... it is 3’ long at best but the drive train does actually function, steering works and is a pretty darn cool piece of bike art ! It ended up working out better being smaller and the price was more than reasonable for such a neat item.

That is interesting. What makes you think it is 1920 or so? I'm not doubting, I just have no idea. Can you find any marks from the maker on it? Worksman still makes bikes like this. This looks small. We will need to see more details pictures. What size wheels are they. Are those welded steel spokes? Are they solid rubber tires? I would think if there is a headbadge or makers mark it would be on the tube in front of the seat tube.

Can I buy a ice cream?

Oh jeez I’m sorry but I didn’t mean to imply this is an authentic antique. This was an item made by some unknown craftsman that the previous owner acquired in the past. I don’t know how old it actually is, I’m guessing 70’s-80’s? But made to look period correct.

This idea was already taken, by Cheech & Chong. 😁 Still, you could get extra points for playing Van Halen’s “Ice Cream Man”, yes? 🤔😎😁

Good point about music to go along with this bike. There is also Jonathan Richmond and the Modern Lovers "Ice Cream Man" . Not as popular as Van Halen.

Do you have a six year old child who needs to make a little extra money?
