1994 Marzocchi xc 500 -Steerer tube

Hi

I am wondering, in regards to the 1994 Marzocchi xc 500, and steerer tube compatibility. I want to buy these vintage shocks for a specific build which requires a 1 inch steerer tube. So I found some forks with a 1 1/8 steerer, and a replacement steerer tube that is 1'. Though the listing states the steerer is for 1996-2001 bombers (bolt on same as the 500's), Does anybody know if they are compatible?

Should be compatible, but you will also need the shim so the 1" steerer will fit the crown (11/8)

Thanks! It does look a little wider at the base of the steerer pictured, if not a shim should be pretty straight forward.

Not sure if the older crown will take the newer steerer, but the correct shim for a 1" Marzocchi steerer is almost identical to this: https://www.amazon.com/RST-1-1-steer...ct_top?ie=UTF8

The RST steerer tubes and shim are really close to old Marzocchi spec, close but not perfect in my experience. I think I have an older Marzocchi crown in the parts bin to test the theory on, curious myself if that will work.
