Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Can I use Dura-Ace 7900 cassettes with 7800 group?

Will someone please tell me if I can or cannot or even should-not mix a Shimano Dura-Ace 7900 set of 11 - 28t cassettes with a Dura-Ace 7800 group? I have an Ultegra 6600 10s 12-27 set of cassettes with Dura-Ace 7800 shifters and derailleurs (short-cage rear); can I switch 6600 for 7900? I'm using a set of Shimano's SL Ultegra WH-6600g wheels; which are specific to 10s cassettes.

If the 7900, 11-28 cassettes are okay with a 7800 group, should I replace my 7800 chain? Will the short-cage rear derailleur work with an 11-28 set?

Thank you! Trent.
