22F, calm wind, 5 mile trip
Head: Old Navy Cap under helmet, fleece neck gator
Torso: terramar tech-skin, winter jersey, long sleeve cotton jersey.(Got real cold so put on Windbreaker. It was soaked by the time I got to work, even with front completely open(just zipped at bottom). It does not breath enough.)
Legs: knickers, 50/50 wool/cotton long underwear, sweat pants
feet: Coleman merino wool socks, Lake shoes.
Hands: hunter orange thermax gloves.

Some icing problems with the eyewear whenever I came to a stop. Hands were ok once I put the liners on. My feet were a little cold after the longest stretch, I think I'll find some over-booties that fit over the Lake's. Torso and legs were fine. -20F is pretty much my fun limit, but I'm a little reluctant commuting at -20F since it can easily drop another 15 degrees in a few hours this time of the year.

Got hot quickly. At 2 mile mark had to stop and remove one balaclava and one ear band. Pretty comfortable for rest of ride. First ride with oversocks. They seem to make a difference as this is the coldest i have been able to comfortably wear my Lake shoes. It did warm up during the ride and was almost 20 F at the end, so jury is still out.

(had to remove stocking cap to help vent excess heat)

Conditions: 40 degrees at the start (before sunrise). 1hr 14 mins later it was 55 degrees. There was a slight wind out of the east and it was clear and dry.
Head: Headsweats tritech winter skullcap, helmet.
Torso: arm warmers, Champion lightweight thermal long sleeve base layer, short sleeve orange alert shirt, illuminite vest.
Legs: Performance elite shorts, knee warmers, loose shorts on top.
Hands: Specialized bg short fingered gloves, wool gloves on top.
Feet: Defeet wooleator socks, cheapo low cut hiking shoes.
Notes: It was my first sub 50 degree weather ride of the season and I felt underdressed even though I was sweating within 10 minutes. I should have worn a long sleeve alert shirt instead of arm warmers and brought along a jacket for the return trip as vest does nothing to keep out cold crosswinds. Windproof gloves would have been nice and it's time for sock liners as my feet froze today.
Head: Headsweats tritech winter skullcap, helmet.
Torso: arm warmers, Champion lightweight thermal long sleeve base layer, short sleeve orange alert shirt, illuminite vest.
Legs: Performance elite shorts, knee warmers, loose shorts on top.

Jacket: Marmot ATV, Eddie Bauer wool zip, ultra thin Medima wool undershirt
Pants: PI ThermaFleece
Shoes: Garnae Winter racing boot with thick wool sock
The added reflectivity on the back of the tights and jacket was well recieved. 1 layer too many on the top. 1 Layer too few on the legs.

Fingers and toes got a little cold, all else was perfect. This feels like my limit for covering my face. I keep the balaclava at my chin, so my birthday card money is going toward a cold weather mask (not a full balaclava). Cabela's has the one I want.

(a bit underdressed, but not uncomfortable - the weather forcast was wrong and my home thermometer broke, temp is read from bike thermometer)
