Hello from the Canary Islands
How d'ya all!
After lurking the forum for ages, I've decided to join this great community.
Currently in the bike shed (this is the garage by another name) two touring mtb's: a 1990 Specialized Hardrock and a steel Kona (sweet little bike). These will be joined shortly by a Thorn Club Tour (frameset is in its way here)
Cheers
Roberto

Welcome aboard! What wonderful country to go touring and mountain biking in... I'd love to see some photos if you have a digital camera.

Yeap. there are seven islands here. Very hot weather most of the time with a few scattered rainy days throughout the year (we live 100 km away from the Sahara1) If you like flat land, this is a nightmare here. Up and down most of the time. The highest summit of Spain is in this islands so you can make an idea. There are two flat islands, but these are swept by strong winds nearly always. Wonderful beaches and lots of tourists.
About the pros, yes we get them here but only in the pre-season and most are road racers.
I've just got a digital camera so pictures to follow.
I have attached a pic of my hometown S Nicolas with the island of Tenerife in the background. Not sure if this will show.
Cheers
