back to back time trials...literally

Hi there. Need guidance.

I'm participating in a cycling event next month and the event consists of a 2, 5, and 10mi ITT. This is actually my first cycling event as my forte is triathlon.

I've got all necessary gear...tt bike, aero wheelset/disc wheel, aero helmet, boot covers, trainers/rollers. I was thinking spinning before/after each event, and apart from that, just doing it. My concern is that after the 2mi event, I will be shot. I'm 22 so I think I have that benefit to recover quicker.

Any pointers? Has anyone ever done an event like this? If so, strategies or guidance?

What is the time between each event? Do you have time in between them or you just line right back up and head back out?

What type of event is it and where is it?

Pensacola stage race is next month, but the TT is 5k for all categories...Jacksonville TT is 10k for all categories. It sure doesn't sound like Ft. Desoto or the Orlando TT series either.

A 5k TT? Sounds intense!

U.S. First Responder Games. Kinda similar to Olympics. A bunch of events different departments compete in. Don't worry, I'm a good guy, not a cop

It's at Ft. Desoto and the event is being run/hosted/managed by a LBS over there as far as I know. My first year doing it and don't know anyone that has done it. I know that MTB is way more popular in the games than road races. I know they did a crit one year and did TT's other years. Top people did like 26 and some change for their speed. My first race, and 26+ seems reasonable given my fitness level.

Barring inside AC, next best thing, shade and lots of ice.

Can't help much then.

Pacing for all three events are quite different. Is that the order?

Not as intense as the 8 hour drive to get there...for an 8:30am rr start time.

Ft. Desoto is dead flat but you're guaranteed to have a steady annoying wind because it hangs out in the Gulf. Good luck with the race(s)!

Bummer, they cancelled the event. thanks for the tips regardless. I guess I'll finish this season off with training and get into racing next season.
