80s/90s Era Bianchi Road Bike for $300?

I am considering buying a vintage Bianchi road bike for $300. The model name seems to have been worn or photoshopped off, and the seller did not respond to my question about model and year.
As such, I am a bit wary that this is a rip off, but cabin fever from the stay at home order is sinking in and bike availability on CL is quite low right now. I am ok paying a bit of a premium for what looks like a well maintained, turnkey road bike. I am just worried that there may be some glaring issues that a novice like myself is not picking up on. Do you think the asking price for this bike is reasonable? Should I make a counter offer? Thank you so much for your help!

I cannot post a link to the ad, but here are some specs:
Bianchi Road Bike - Red and black frame, Cyan Bianchi stickers. Seems to be from the 80s/early 90s based on my research (maybe a Strada?)
Lightweight Tange Steel frame.
New bar tape, brake cables and cable housing just installed.
Suntour gears

Continental Tires are in like new condition, very low miles.
Cleaned , lubricated, and ready to ride.

We can't help without pictures or a link to the and as a newbie you can't do that until you have 10 posts. Is the bike on eBay? CL? Somewhere else? Where are you located? Someone will track down the ad and link it so we can give you some feedback.

Thank you!! It is a post on the Washington DC CL. The post is titled:

Bianchi Road Bike 58 cm - $300 (Van Ness, DC NW)

I found this forum through a post about a similar looking bike (in this subforum) titled:

Bianchi Limited_Italian made, Black/red decals?

Right now, in the DC market, that's an OK price. Bike is not top end but it appears to be clean and in good shape. Saddle and bars need adjusting. Would not be surprised if the person selling it was fairly knowledgeable.

Thank you rccardr. I offered $250 and the bike sold for $300 this afternoon unfortunately. I really appreciate all the help regardless.

Will continue searching!

You can start a new thread telling us what you are looking for and the size bike you need. People here will look at your local CL and FB market and give you an idea of what is available and whether it is a decent deal or not.

Thanks Bikemig, that would be a fantastic help. I will find the appropriate sub-forum to start a new thread.

This is the appropriate forum. But you will want to start a new thread with a good title and tell us what you are looking for. The posters here will do the work for you,

It looks like it was a 1989 Bianchi Premio. I wouldn't have paid $300 for it.

I agree poorly setup adjusted likely not ready to ride, from the pics I wouldn't ride this bike without going through the brakes, tires/wheels and checking general setup. As is cash price I would say $150 current market great looking Bianchi.

You will find something as good or better! Bianchis tend to get a premium over actual value. Your money will go further with a good Japanese branded (or made in Japan with a US brand name) bike.
