Well done. Its alsothe best thing I have done I am car lite as well and love it. I have only had to drive the car to work once in an emergency call in the rest of the time I ride.

Cycling is just great
So many people focus way to much on tiny details, but for most people
just getting out and riding regularly can be such a great thing

23 kilos? That's awesome!
I'm closing in on one year of bike commuting. It has been the most radical life altering experience of my life (and this includes getting married AND divorced). In the beginning, I doubted my ability to stick with it, as every ride was pretty painful.
One thing that I've become sensitive about: I've always been a slender guy, so I didn't need to lose any extra weight. I commuted all through winter, and then I was bundled up in multiple layers. But now that summer is upon us, I showed up one day in the sleakest of bike outfits, and a friend freaked out at how skinny I was. Never mind that I had excellent muscle tone below the torso. I was a bit dismayed. But then I was stopped at an intersection and saw a slender roadie who had chiseled, albeit very lean, muscle all over, and I couldn't help but think, ugh, that's a bit freakish.
And then I realized, that's how some might react when they see me...
