Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sound wise, How do the t11s compare to say other hubs or a lower end Mavic free hub like say a aksium or ksyrium, Considering you've rode those before.
Well it's not quiet but not as loud as CKs. I had the same spec'd wheel set with CK hubs and it has the "angry bee" sound which I actually liked a lot. Can't say anything about the stock Mavic wheels because I had the LBS replace it before my bike went out the door.

I found an awesome deal on a pair of 9000 Hubs $150 less than a pair of T11s. That with a pair of DT R460 rims, I could have my LBS build me a light 1400-1500g beater wheelset for around $550
I own both and both are amazing. The T11 looks far better, the DA is quiter and rolls wonderfully. You can't go wrong with either of them.

I'm going to vote for quieter hubs too. That's one thing I don't like about the WI T11: compared to the H3, it's loud. And I LURVE Dura - Ace hubs. Just the best, and SO whisper quiet.

The Hollowgram crankset is ridiculously expensive if it didn't originally come with your bike. The other top of the line cranks from sram and shimano are half the cost. Makes no sense.

I was going to jump on an FSA SL-K until someone turned me on to the SI Hollowgram. Then I saw the price. Yikes. Think I'll be going back to the SL-K.

Flip the stem and slam it. Then don't forget to stretch lower back after rides Great Color. Did Carytown do several like this? If not I'm pretty sure I recognize this frame from Ebay a while back. Nice wheels how do you like 'em? I just bought the heavier toroidal instead of firecrest Zipp 60's. Haven't ridden yet as I just received and sent bike to local shop for several updates.

Very nice color indeed, congrats on the new upgrades.

The SMP saddles, specifically the dynamic, look very intriguing but hard to throw down $200+ on a saddle only to find out it won't work for me. My fizik Antares is nice for the amount of surface area allowing you to move around into different positions on the saddle, doesnt look possible on SMPs, wish there was a place by me or even in Manhattan where they let you demo them for a couple hours.

Maybe I'll just get one second hand on ebay and resell it if it doesn't work out.

Thanks for the kind words. I bought the bike used off my local craigslist several years ago. It came with a mishmash of parts. Carytown had several of these frames, I believe it was their team frames for a while. It was ridden hard, and pieced back together for sale.

I get compliments on the bike on every group ride, with the zipp wheels it really pops.

I am actively working on my biking and getting fitter each day. One day I will flip the stem. I won't cut the steerer tube though, I want to leave it uncut if I ever sell the frame. Crank and wheels are going to stay with me. Frankly the only frame I'd go for a Supersix Evo Hi-mod. This is plenty of bike for me, and I'm really enjoying my time on this caad.

Selle SMP has demo locations all over the states. I tested 5 Selle SMP seats before choosing this one. I wanted to go on some long rides to really make sure it was the right saddle for me. I came from a Fizik Arione, and the Selle was a huge improvement. I'm into Grand Fondos so I wanted something I could be comfortable in for a 100 mile ride. My issue was also saddle position, so the fizik wasn't all to blame for my numbing issues I was experiencing.

Here's a list of Selle SMP dealers that are demo centers as well. Looks like you have some options in or near New York city.
Albabici Local SMP Dealers and Demo/Test centers Locator Information.

I just wrapped up the build on this 15' caad 10 for my upcoming trip. I really forgot how much I liked the handling of these frames. The ride turned out to spurisingly smooth with 25C mounted to HED Belgium+ and alchemy hubs 32/28. Very stiff, but reasonably light weight. The total build weight came in at 15.65lbs. Since those photo I did drop 50 grams by changing the seatpost from a thomson masterpiece to a ritchey carbon post with a 25mm offset.

What adaptor did you use to get the ultegra cranks on there?

I'd imagine any bb30 to shimano adapter would work.

For those of you who have the 2016 CAAD 12 105 how is the comfort on it for both lond and short rides?

2. How does the comfort compare from a endurance bike like a Rouviax or Synapse?

I just finished a ride where I had a chat with a lot of riders and quite a few of them had CAAD12. One of them said it's just as comfortable as the Synapse, ditto with the Evo.

Cannondale has been knocking it out of the park with these bikes, so much that their endurance line is starting to become obsolete. Unless you really need an upright geometry, is there a reason to get the Synapse anymore? I hear CAAD12 can take up to 30mm tires.

CAAD 5 R3000 build.

Here is a throwback that I built up this weekend. Full Dura Ace 7800. Dura Ace 7800 hubs laced to OP's.
Took it out for a 30mi shake down ride yesterday afternoon. Frame rides pretty great for being 15yrs old.
Frame was in like new condition as well as the parts. Going to change out the specialized stem and seat post once
I get my position dialed in. Thinking of using either silver Thomson or Ritchey Classic.

So I need some opinions from the Aluminati. I had a Caad10 in 2012. Wrecked the frame and replaced with, at the time, a new 2011 SS, the old frame style. I loved my Caad I rode that 2x as much as my EVO HM. I was thinking of replacing the 2011 SS with another Caad. My dealer has new 2015 Caad10 3's for $1500. My problem is, I am not sure if I should just get the Caad12? Either way I would be replacing the group, wheels and contact points. I would then put the take offs on th SS and sell it for as close to what im going to pay for the Caad. The reviews on the 12 are glowing, but they were for the Caad10 as well. What does the Aluminati say? Caad10 or Caad12? Is the Caad12 that much better?

Caad 12= straight bladed fork. Caad 12 wins!!! For a couple hundred more you get a caad12 105, Swap the take offs, sell SS w 105 for couple hundred less, well worth the money IMO but it's up to you.
In all honesty go for the color you like, performance differences are very slight if any at all, can't go wrong either way. Get the 12 you only live once.

Look at it this way: For the same price you can get a 105 CAAD12. So the conversation is more about whether you want ultegra or 105—a discussion comprising many hundreds of threads on this forum. If you're replacing the components anyway, then I see no reason to get a CAAD10. The 10 is a wonderful bike, but the 12 is a little bit better. Lighter, stiffer, more comfortable. Of course, I haven't been able to notice any difference, but others claim to be able to. If the money is the same, why not go for the more technologically advanced frame?

Well my LBS threw me a curve ball. Offered me a 2015 EVO HM frameset in flat black and green electric only for $1500....

So I passed on the HM. Went and looked at the Caad12 105. The pictures online do not do the bike justice. I love the flat black and grey. It looks white on the Cannondale site... Going back to pick it up tonight.
