I spent a month in Portugal this October and the weather was extremely varied with some hot days as well as some extremely windy rainy days. My only advice as previously the absolute worst part of Portugal is along the coast from a cycle touring perspective. I’d like to joke that if Portugal needed an enema they put the hose in the Algarve.

I had been there in mid-March two years earlier during a train tour of Spain. The place was relatively empty. When I rode in on Holy Thursday I didn’t recognize where I was until I hit the bridge across the gorge because of all the visitors.

Don’t know how long it would be or how much climbing, but maybe map out Ronda-Grazalema-Puerto de Las Palomas-Zahara de la Sierra-Montecorto-Setenil de la Bodega-Ronda.
That would be a great ride, but probably a ton of climbing.

Anywhere you go around there is going to involve climbing. There be mountains all around.

A view from a park in the old section of town (Sorry for the poor scan quality.)

This was little more than a month ago. I miss it already.
