Handlebar Nirvana
i have been on the hunt for the perfect handlebars. Ive tried drops. Straight bars. Butterfly, trekking bars. Mary and Clarence. Moloko. And then.....the “Casey’s Crazy Bar”. Yep it’s the one. Right width, the horns in the front are actually useful.
All this on my surly. LHT. Coupled. Rohloff hub..Ortlieb front and rear panniers. Topeka handlebar bag. MKS platform pedals. Brooks Imperial S..
Woohoo!
Now to finish all my work and just....go...

how did you get a rohlof onto a LHT? Didnt think it was possible with regular dropouts.
and while I have to google that bar, if it works for you, great, that's all that matters.

The only issue is tensioning the chain. A chain tensioner attached to the derailleur mount works well.

I'll have to google those crazy bars. I've seen them mentioned several times now, but never saw a pic yet, lol. I'm pretty happy with my trekking bars, but willing to "look around". 😁

I was really hoping this was going to be a video of someone playing Nirvana using handlebars! I guess the brain see what it wants to hear ; )

I understand the far outside bars might be useful, but how are those front bars any different than riding on the hoods? (I've never ridden those, so I am genuinely curious).
Seems like a worse and uncomfortable solution, especially if you hit a pothole or something and your momentum goes forward, what am I missing?

With the above setup, I don't understand why someone situated the shifters to make one of the most comfortable hand positions, the tube intersection, impossible. It's precisely why on my Jones Bars I have below the bar shifters, which makes the entire bar available.

These are intriguing. I see online that people put bar-end shifters out on the front ends, and the company says you can put road brake leavers on them, but can't find pictures. I assume they'd go out on the front bends too. Anyone have experience?
