it’s says Newbie under my screen name lol

I assume a predetermined post count removes it but I don’t know.

click the drop down box by your member name. Then <user control panel> then look a few panels down under <Optional Information - All information will be viewable by other forum members.> and you'll see <custom user title>

Fill it out with what every you desire.

If you don't have that option then maybe you have to wait till "newbie" goes away. I think that will be after 100 posts.

It will automatically change when you get to 100 posts. At your current post/year rate, that should be sometime in about 2027

It's always funny to see a "newbie" that has been here longer than I have. We have had some kerfuffles because they can't post pictures yet after 15 years.

They could change it to “lurker” after a year or two if post count still low.

As we say in some other groups, "if you don't like your nickname, we can always give you a worse one."

Me like. And then there are some with super high post counts that have never really said anything (important)

There are also accounts that were set up many years ago and then finally used to spam, so you can't really use longevity as an indication that they are a legitimate user.

I've always been curious about users with very very high post counts. If you assume 30 seconds per post... convert to hours... 2000 hours is a full-time job for a year... ah.... hmmm.

Check your math. I think you forgot to convert seconds to hours. Maybe you skipped minutes.

If they counted The Lounge posts, my posts in the Lies threads alone would probably out-distance all my counted posts. I haven't posted in the regular forums in years. Made up my mind about chain lube years ago. Of course, there was a long period of under-employment in there...

IOW, posters with different opinions than your own, or that stray from the path of conventional bicycling wisdom as determined by members of the Clique That Knows Everything About Bicycling.
