Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What happened to Horner? He is not in the Velonews GC results. Was he killed? Kidnapped? Has he assumed an alias?

That's more like it, his name does not appear in the Velonews G.C. You think this would be big news, it wasn't mentioned on Versus or Velonews. That's crack reporting right there, eh?

Yeah like WTF? I know it took some sorting out but c'mon. I'm sure it'll appear eventually. sheesh. Sucks for Horner though. I was rooting for him.

Sean Kelley and co almost missed it as well because he was apparently in a ditch, and people didn't know he went down until they saw his bike sticking out of it.

Cycling News is generally quicker than VN with the GC results.

Good grief that sucks about as hard as it can suck. Between Levi getting washed out of a podium spot and Horner and Wiggins out of the race, why bother watching?

what team bent over and took it harder today, Radioshack or Sky?

Leopard Trek and HTC are the biggest winners IMO

Sky was the big loser.

RS still has Kloden in contention.

There are still two other American teams to root for...including the one from San Louie Obispo (as Phil says).

I think ASchleck is in an great situation...no falls, hasn't been working hard, has his whole team around him, etc...

Too good to be true, Cavendish from twitter:

1 point today I got bad stomach cramp & farted unintentionally. Really thought I'd..ahem..followed through. So sorry to Liquigas guy behind.

Bet everyone's happy to get to the mountains where Cav isn't in front anymore

Boo, I was pulling for Horner too. I can't believe he got back up and finished the stage.

--------------from the article----------------------

The team released a statement that said Horner suffered a broken nose, concussion and a calf hematoma in his crash.

"When I got there, he was lying in a ditch and was very shaken," team manager Johan Bruyneel said in the release. "It was obvious he’d hit very hard."
