I'm at 40 minutes so far.

Good job! I have to say 4K is amazing and you did well with the editing and music. It's slow paced but gives a really good view of the aesthetic.
Particularly enjoyable as I visited Japan (Honshu) in 89/90 from Nikko to Hiroshima and can recall the landscapes and buildings etc...
Cheers

4K is great but this single project was 2.6TB. So you need a bit of space! Also, your computer gets tired doing al the computations. 40 minutes in a few days ago so you have probably almost finished it now!

I hear you about the computer requirements. I'm still using 1080 and that even glitches my old PC sometimes.

My iMac is 7 years old now and can just manage with 4k. But rendering time is very long. So I would caution anyone who is thinking of jumping up to 4k. Some new PC sold today will do poorly if you go cheap. 1080 is perfectly fine and I was quite happy with it. But once you try 4k you realise how awful it is in comparison!

Having lived in Montreal for 10 years I would say, au contraire. You are the hardy one commuting to work in winter!

what years did you live here?

and over the years, I just ended up biking later and later, and gradually figured out what clothes work for a given temp. About -10c or a bit more if not windy is my limit, but then again, I'm out for maybe 45mins tops and end up in a warm building, so with the proper layers and hand protection, it works out well and isnt really any different than going out cross-country skiing.

again, while I have never had any urge to travel in Asia, its fun to see your videos, and I do appreciate the work involved visualizing a shot, placing the camera, doing the ride through, coming back for the camera etc etc etc, not to mention all the post prod stuff.

we are on the cusp of starting to get some days hopefully soon with double digit temps, but there is still salt and gravel and all that jazz all over the roads. Need a bunch of days of good rain to clean it all away.

I have been in Japan 20 years. Prior to that I was in Quebec City for 10 years and then the much warmer! Montreal for another 10. Canada is a great country but I enjoy the 4 seasons here more because outdoor life is mostly pleasant. I was a biker in Canada but never did touring and I put the bike away for the winter.
