You would be surprised at how much a lot of us travel, and how many of us live off island for parts of the year for work.

And at-grade rail was one of the options proposed for the rail system over on Oahu.

That bit about assumptions is kind of amusing when you stop to think about it.

Sadly, they choose to ignore such information. They even ignore that I have posted for both their benefit, that I also own a home in Colorado and visit my adult kids in California. The frequent flyer miles from work also adds to more travel.

Maybe they are fearful of leaving the state they were born in.

I could assume that he thinks we all live in grass shacks and use shells as currency, but ya know. Assumptions.

The new Metro system in Medellin, Colombia, has streetcar-like machines that use only one metal track that is used primarily as an electrical ground and guide rail. The Belgian vehicles run on four rubber tires. It's an interesting hybrid solution that eliminates one track, provides a smoother ride, eliminates squeals and works well on hills. Definitely an improvement for cyclists.

Atlanta Street Car Accident

I was in an accident due to lack of warning signs directed towards cyclists. I was exploring a new route on my way to work & came upon the fairly new Street Car tracks.

Anyone know a good Atlanta attorney for this?

Trolleys should only be in museums and transportation theme parks.
(I spent 54 years in Boston).

Family is attempting to sue city of Seattle for their daughters unfortunate death caused by streetcar tracks.

That footage will play a key role in a lawsuit filed by the McClould family last month. Cody McCloud, Desiree’s brother, is seeking $2 million in damages from the City of Seattle and Sound Transit, the regional transit authority, for failing to protect his sister from an obvious danger in the roadway.

I was riding in Seattle on a business trip last spring and wiped out crossing over a set of tracks, which curved as I approached a T intersection.

Rear end flew sideways but luckily I had a strong enough leg to take all of weight with just a bit of pain and did not crash...thankfully that bike does not have clip in pedals. Learned my lesson and am really careful traversing them now.

4" + fat bike tires are not as likely to drop into the wheel flange slot, as a narrower tire..

here we have over water old pilings supported planked sections or rail track, used now by a tourist trolley..

with time the planking shrinks and wears, and is wet, then I get off and walk..

LBS rents cruisers, every time they, the customers, get warnings about crossing the trolley tracks.. at too shallow an angle..
