summerinside, who is on these forums, rides a bike with white deep Vs. looks like the one in that link was just built up, so i would suggest sending a message to summerinside. he's been riding his for a handful of months now and might be able to speak on scuffing, etc.

but they look hot.

Orange deep v's here https://velospace.org/node/170. Little behind on the reply but whatever.

I would go to a different LBS, 2 months is way too long. Takes 10 min to check for spoke length and an hour (if you are slow) to build a wheel.

If you can wait a month I'll have a pair of white rimmed, IRO hubbed and 32 spoke wheels. I'll get a stack of photos for you.

These are white rims on my frame. Today there will be travel to a bike shop to purchase the cranks: Dura Ace or Campy, not yet has that been decided. There is a strong eagerness for the bike to be done. It has taken almost 2 years.

Bikes: highly modified specialized crossroads and GT hybrid (really a [formerly] 12-speed bmx cruiser, made before 'hybrid' took on its current meaning), as yet unmodified redline 925, couple of other projects

It's a very different bike. Lighter, stiffer. It climbs like a son of a gun.

I had a Pista. It flexed too much for my taste. Steel in general flexes too much for my taste.

If you cared about weight why would you put deepvs on it? How much do you weigh?

I'm 6'1" close to 240.

It's not about the weight so much as flex issue.

BTW those deep vs are laced to phil woods. Not light at all. The Mavic ellipse were super light and strong.
