Trek with 350-watt geared hub

Trek ‘Shift-3’ with a Clean Republic 350-watt thumb-throttle system. I needed a simple setup to help me haul groceries up hills. It also had to be quickly removable so I could occasionally ride with unpowered friends on bike trails that don’t allow motors.

2016 Enzo e-bike 10.4 amp battery model

Here's my newly 2016 Enzo e-bike, it comes a 10.4 amp battery and I added a Suntour front fork / NCX seat post suspension and bigger cushion saddle. It rides so smoothly with the suspension add-ons.

Bafang SWXh rear hub

Two bikes.

First is my wife's first ebike. Long and comfortable, but has a large turning circle, and the frame is probably too big for her.

Secnd is a 250W hub motor into her old Diamondback. Right now it runs a 36Volt dolphin that I have stuffed into the rear rack bag for stealth. Runs about 20 mph max, but takes a while getting there. Still, it's small and easy to maneuver. Total cost under $160 w/o battery.

I've just received a 48V sine wave controller that I will be installing soon. Then we'll just use the 48V dolphin off the first bike.

Looks great though. I've not got much to show in the way of pictures as mine is disassembled due to winter and having a fairly worn out battery. Planning on doing a rebuild next year.
Oh, I am doing some restoration projects on some vintage bikes though, if anyone wants pictures of those. Peugeot PX-10 and a McKinley Aventurier. Whats a McKinley? I dunno.
I'm very interested in rear drive e-trikes, i have an old tricycle I'm hoping to convert to PAS. i could be wrong but i think front wheel drive on a trike would create too much scrub and wear the tire. i am a double Clyde or something(360lbs) and really only want the assistance to get home because i live on a hill

Electric Beach Cruiser

Ariel Rider N-Class during my stay in Stuttgart outskirts with my wife.

The bike is fast, comfortable but not good for riding on hilly terrain. Sure Cruisers aren't designed for that purpose which i can understand.

But it was very fun and cool to get lot of attention when i was riding around with my electric beach cruiser .

My ebike

2009 Fuji Sunfire 1.0
52v 20ah battery.
Cycle Analyst 3.0
Lighting rods small block mid drive. 1500w
Custom controller I forget the dude who makes them for the lighting rod mid drive.

Rockshox paragon gold air fork
Avid bb7 front disc brake.
Velocity Cliff Hanger front rim 36 spoke with Shinano Deore LX hub. Hand laced from LBS.

Shimano Deore LX rear detailer.

This is my daily commuter bike.

Whatever you do don't pull up on the handle bars in low gear and whack the throttle open. I didn't dump it but it was close.

I just reviewed all 23 pages of ebikes ... what an amazing walk thru 8 years or so of e-bike history & development.

Below is my first e-bike conversion, likely not the last. It's my wife's bike - the goal was to provide an e-assist that will allow her to ride longer distances and at my pace. Mission accomplished. We've ridden a couple of times, the first ride 15 miles not wanting to stray too far from home, and the second 25 miles with steeper hills. The battery still shows as 65% remaining, which exceeds my expectations if we can ride 40 miles using a third of the battery.

Every time I hear of an e-bike manufacturer that I'm not familiar with I check them out to see if anyone is producing a road bike style e-bike. I believe [edit] Giant has introduced one in Europe this year, coming to the US in 2017? I may have my facts incorrect, so don't quote me. I suspect that there's a significant market potential for smaller framed road bikes with e-assist. Among our cycling friends I suspect that there may be more e-bike conversions once my wifes friends have had the chance to ride hers.

This is my fatbike in its winter mode. I've attached a 36V dolphin that drives a dongdiane 500W geared hub motor that I laced into a 4" rim. A 22A controller and 810 LED display are in the blue bag. I use a thumb throttle by the right grip to control the front motor.

The rear motor is the 350W Bafang with a Luna 25A controller. Its battery is in the bag ion the rack. PAS with thumb throttle on left.

All this power isn't needed, and I originally started with a 14A controller up front, but I could barely feel any help from the motor, so I went with the 22A unit that was shipped with the front motor.

What I've learned is to ride around in snow at my own peril. Front wheel drive by itself is just asking to crash. The front wheel likes to slip out. Rear wheel drive, on the other hand, is very controllable in the 3" of flluffy snow we had this weekend. Two wheel drive is nice on snow covered grass.

That black thing hanging dowm behind the pedal is the 8.4V 4S battery for my cree light. I went riding like that today with the battery dragging, and I ground a hole in one of the 18620 cells. Dumb.

NP, 52V, 10 a/h Luna battery. I run a 30 front ring and 11-17-28 in the rear. Usually don't ride more than 20 miles off road and usually not higher than PAS 3 (of 9). Top speed is 22-24 mph more than enough for my needs. Kept the throttle, but rarely use it. One ride that almost exhausts it is Harding to Four Corners, 18 or so miles and 3000' or so of climbing. The battery has functioned well for a year.

Assume you're being facetious, but either way, not far with an ebike, what I usually rode with an MTB before I got old. Now ride 10-15 miles off road on an MTB, maybe 20 on an eMTB.
