Thread shows unread even after reading

Quite often lately, I will go into a thread via the last read chevron button and then after reading the unread posts, ensuring I'm at the bottom return to the sub-forum via the link in the dropdown bar as I briefly scroll up.

When getting back out to the sub-forum the thread is still shown as unread. Yet the final post shown is the one I read. Going back into the thread as I did before and then exiting the same way it will then be marked as unread. Or I can use just any of the other tools or ways that mark it as unread.

Seems to be threads that have more than one unread reply that I have this happen. It happens whether I am using a desktop Win10 PC or a macbook. I use Chrome with both.

While not a show stopper, it is ever so slightly and annoyance.
