Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Rate my Rack errrrrr ride

I usually post on the vintage board but someone suggested that I post pictures of the bike I bought here. what do you guys think? does it need deep v's or a top tube pad, my daughter has a Raleigh Honey 16" with a cool holographic bee pad should I gank that sheot?

+1000000 on ganking the bee pad. that would be the illest. and DO NOT change those handlebars. they're so ridiculous that they must be left on.

passat with audi wheels. too high to be an S4, wrong front end to be an A4. if i ever need to buy a car again, an avant is what i'll be looking for.

It looks ok to me for the most part. I don't like the look of that brake lever, though. It bends away from the bar in a way that would make it hard to use.

Passat with S4 wheels and soon to be dumped suspension as soon as I stop spending too much money on bikes and replace my blown shocks.

The SUV is my neighbor's hybrid ford.

This bike rides like an SUV with the 27" wheels. Foot retention? I like wearing flip flops too much for toe clips. here's another SS with horrific bars for you guys. I have a soft spot for granny bars. ride some and you will too.

That's a Scott Model 600 seed/fertilizer spreader if you want to know.

sweet redundant back brake

your bikes are nothing special, certainly not deserving of their own thread.

Put a front brake on the Bianchi, and a rear brake on the Gitane.

Why did you convert that bianchi?

Quality geared road bikes are meant to remain quality geared road bikes. Sell it to me will ya?

redundant back brake? it's a single speed. Thanks for pointing out that my bikes are nothing special and bumping my non-deserved thread back up. I take it that you are 1 vote for deep v's, top tube pads and more chinese made crap that are adorning more than their fair share of bikes with their own thread. I must admit that I did have a set of deep v's with Ti spokes in 20" on my BMX bike. they were the radest!
Maybe I'll paint my Celeste Bianchi yellow?

I've had that Bianchi for years. I still have the Nuovo Record Group it came with. some day it will return to it's geared glory. but it is fun as a SS
