Help me pick out new tires,

Have spent the past 2 days googling tires and am more confused than ever. I have a 2019 Trek Verve 3 with Bontrager H5 Ultimate tires, 700x45. My hope is to find a tire that is thinner and more "road" than "off road". The tire must also have a high level of puncture protection as I want to avoid as much as possible having to fix a flat on a ride. I ride on paved streets and on concrete and asphalt paved MUPs. The only off road I do is ride through some mud, dirt or sand that finds itself on the MUP in low areas and maybe 50 feet of grass from the parking lot to the trail. Occasional packed dirt on a path, no gravel or mountain bike trails.

My LBS recommended Gatorskins which appear to be great tires but the widest is 700x32 and I am not sure I want to be that narrow, I was thinking 700x38? Any and all receommendations and or schooling is appreciated.

Aren’t those tires smooth? If so maybe just stick with them but narrower

I almost went Gatorskins but got a good deal on these and have been very happy with them.......FAST and no punctures ( about 700 miles on them )

Anything in the Schwalbe Marathon line would be good for you I think. Get a "Plus" model for extra puncture protection. In fact, Schwalbe markets them as "flat-less":

Thanks for that suggestion. I know the next tires for my Quick 1 and I am very happy with the OE Schwalbes that are on it. The original 700x30C's are now over 1000 miles and I will be upgrading to the 700x35C soon.

I have the Marathon HS on my Crosstrails, 700 x 38, and really like them.
