Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's a Bosch that was on sale at Home Depot. Something like 30 bucks at the time. Cross-haired for level and/or plumb. That I could see, the next stepping up gives you a brighter laser with a wider arc, but this one (30ft) seems fine for a small home.

I suppose that is possible, but by 90-ish there are so many systems that are wearing out that it is unlikely in our lifetime.

We had a good hike through some less-traveled areas of Valley Forge park. If anyone is ever in the area, check it out. It’s quite a gem.

Pics on Strava, or by request.

Two lanes, no turn lane. I was on the left side of the lane to let motorists turn right, as is my habit at signals.

No runout at all. Some change in the braking surface. This was the front disc on the Lynskey, not IceTech.

Last month I was driving a car and was in the left-turn lane. A guy in the regular (straight-through) lane guns it and makes a left turn in front of me.

Granted, I'm not the fastest car on the road, but

I do that too; and this is what I've found: Morons are easily confused, and I've also found they cuss in front of their fiance, but don't like it if you cuss in front of them. Morons be morons, and they be everywhere.

This guy was confused about a lot, but not about my intentions. I did, however, manage to just shut up and let him do his idiot thing, rather than perform my outraged weenie dance.

Yeah, that’s happened to me too, but probably not since we left the Boston area.

Mine was a non-icetech Shimano 180mm 6-bolt with child-safe edges.

Yep. Every ride I would pitch a fit and cry about how this rotor sucked and I needed to order a new one!

I am 2 miles short of being the leader. The guy at number 1 is in over 1000 clubs so clearly a ringer. Sad!

The dachshunds have been so easy to take. Only active when wrassling with each other or out in the field. Otherwise they are chill. It’s nice.

I’m taking Puppy Love to Cedar City Utah to run a Hunt Test on jackrabbit. I’ll check the place out for you. Close to Brian Head, so: mountain biking.

Well I do eat a lot.

I don’t have time for walking! Although I guess I am walking when we are rabbiting.

My nephew had an English Mastiff. Weighed 195 pounds when fully grown with feet the size of saucers and canines over 2". Fortunately he had a sweet disposition. One weekend when I was visiting and sleeping in a bedroom and while half asleep I heard the door, which was ajar, push open and a moment later he put one huge paw on the bed and waited a count of 7 and one second after that he was up on the bed. I gave him a pat, he thumped his tail on the mattress in acknowledgement and we went to sleep. Sad to say, big dogs don't live nearly as long as small dogs.

Most big dogs don’t live as long as small dogs. Some do. I’ve got 4 dogs, one of whom is a 125 pound Khangal Shepherd. They typically live 12 to 15 years.

Putting aside the issue of money, we've reached the point where one can imagine a roadmap to meaningful changes. Stem cell therapies to regenerate diseased tissue and bad joints. On another front, we'll have big enough computers to analyze a million+ genomes and figure out/edit genetic biomarkers.

Not sure when it will happen, but it took $3 billion to sequence the first genome, and now it's ~$1,000.
