Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ah, I didn't see your post last night. Oof. When was spring break scheduled to start - the 30th?

So far we're cancelled through the end of the month, but it will be longer. The school district has no cases and so far, only one positive test in the county at CU. But that will all change soon, I bet.

CDPHE is far more on top of this than any other state agency I've seen throughout the nation. As of last night, we've performed 1/4 of the tests so far, country-wide. Having the only drive through test facility was brilliant, and having a Popeye's drive through in the same line would have been the cherry on top.

Remember the patient who works for a major bike parts distributor?? She came in today with some gifts. I got a new pair of Look X-Track pedals that will work great on my CX bike. She also gave me a "bikeshield" invisible film frame protector which will go on the Roubaix, I reckon.

Went to Target for my usual grocery shopping needs. It was a madhouse. Lots of bare shelves and, worse, lots of people unaccustomed to grocery shopping were grocery shopping. People didn't know where they were going, making erratic moves, couldn't hold their ******g line - I imagine that my frustration was somewhat similar to how a CAT3 would feel at a charity ride.

Daughter says Irish authorities may be recruiting grad students to run PCR. Doesn’t sound very CLIA compliant.

in other news, long-suffering spouse is coming down with something...

Public health emergency management is full of tough calls and trade-offs, but I think there are pretty good arguments in favor of closing schools at this point and possibly in future waves. In the 50s, polio closed swimming pools and camps for multiple summers.
