Face it, we all want a Cervelo.

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes, I am 16, and no, its a Defy Advanced. With upgraded 7800 crank

It's still awesome.
You're pretty smart for a 16 year old, you're parents must be proud.
The Defys are excellent bikes. Enjoy it until you graduate from college and get a real job.
Then get the Advanced SL.

And good job - you're up to 5 pages. This thread has potential.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

It's funny how I got my job. I walked in there to look around and they offered one. No application or anything. I guess I look like I'll work for minimum

Oh well, it's paid off. And I figured this thread would attract a good bit of attention.

Maybe it's a local market thing. Locally for me, Cervelo's are higher priced than comparably equipped competition. Maybe thats because I am in Canada, buying a Canadian product. Much like the gas we make costs me 5 bucks a gallon and the gas we make and sell to you you-alls sells for 2.50 in Marica.

End of the day, don't give a crap what you paid in Houston. I am not there.

I have a Seven and did a lot of Serotta test riding before deciding on the Seven a few years ago. Then I got a Cervelo and ride it almost all the time.

Nope

Demo'd both the Cervelo and Look. Decided on the Look.

Next on the wish list will be:
Pino
Moots
BMC

I have seen some Time bikes that are really growing on me though

Close but no cigar...

Cervelo is a combination of the word Brain and Bike = Brain Bike = a Bike well thought of

Just like Pcad might as well post mine...

As good a bike as the cervelos are, I would take one of these over any cevelo:

Face it, you'd much rather have a Scapin.

I think you just need to review this thread to understand why people would rather want a Cervelo.

Well where's Cervelo's Report Card?
Don't worry it's a rhetorical question, they don't have one because their high school engineering department haven't figured out how to combine weight, comfort, and stiffness into their bikes.

Now if everyone just went out and bought a Giant there'd be no more "which bike should I buy", "did I buy the right bike" or "why did I buy a Cervelo when I could've gotten a Giant" threads.

I don't know if everyone wants one, but I did and since Sept., I have one $2,400 new old stock with full 2008 SRAM Force group - I would say that's cheaper than a Cannondale, no? And I would take the RS over a Madone anyday!

"blah blah blah I ride *insert brand* so obviously they make the best bikes" . Give it a rest already. You're worse than PCAD.

(and I've owned 3 Giants)
