alright, op here, i finally got to see the cinelli x frame in person. it's one hell of a frame. Sizing is weird as hell (riding 56cm iro mark v) and the 53cm fits perfectly. Thanks again everyone for chiming in. Putting my deposit down next week.

Yeah man go for it. If you like the bike, buy it. It's amazing how many times people are asked to justify preference. Any ideas on the build?

Based on these two measurements (and assuming the handlebars have the same drop), I'd say that the Fuji actually puts you an a more aero position as this setup of the Cinelli has your chest/arms/back/handlebars 1" higher off of the ground and more open to the wind.

Yeah it does, the track pro is also a smaller bike which is why the seat is so high. But I ride the mash cinelli for commuting to work. I was reluctant to cut the steerer any shorter than it is now which is the maximum cut down height. The trade off between positioning, and this has a lot to do with my physical fitness, is that I can hold position in the drops on the cinelli for the duration of my ride. On the fuji I drop into position during short speed burst.

I personally like the green one that wrench science has. If I were buying an new frame for the track I would definitely consider it.

I don't get it. Why did they not use a level top tube? It isn't using a 650 front- so they could just as easily have designed this as a conventional frame (and hence NOT been "tall"). This looks more like a fake pursuit design, compared to something like a lo-pro. Then again, are lo-pros even UCI legal?

Frames like the Mash/Cinelli and the Affinity Lo-Pro aren't necessarily pursuit bikes, rather just bikes with larger triangles. I've test ridden a Lo-Pro, and I couldn't actually feel the sloping top tube (as I generally have a few inches of saddle to bar drop anyway), as long as it's set up properly anyway.
That being said, it was explained to me that the larger triangles on this sort of bike make for stiffer joints, which allows the tubing to be made thinner without compromising the structural integrity of the bike (and making the bike lighter at the same time). I definitely noticed that the affinity frame was lighter than my current bike (Kilo), but that's not too impressive I suppose.
I've seen a lot of the Cinelli/Mash frames here in San Francisco, especially at pretty much any race (I think the Rainier has one that Jason Yim was racing for a while)/

I rode my lo pro for over a year, and it felt heavier than my current bike, but for some reason it felt faster when I was accelerating. It was probably all in my head. I've also ridden a mash and it felt very similar although lighter. Someone said above, but they do run a bit big. I normally ride a 53-54 and my friends 50cm mash frame felt perfect.

I love visual pursuit. I think its beatiful, But i for sure know i would need to negate the pursuit geo with a tall stack stem like velo orange one.

I was thinking of selling my Gazzetta and going for a Mash. But I use mine mainly for commuting to work and odd runs thru the city. I don't know if this is going to be a comfortable geometry for me. Futhermore the pursuit frame, will make quick stops downhill probably even more difficult hence riding in traffic more difficult.

Well, if by "intended purpose" you mean to create a useless bike that is virtually unridable to be purchased by people with more money than brains, then maybe people are just building them and then immediately trying to flip them. I've never seen one at the track or anything like it, and I go to the track a lot.

please, ride before you bash something though - thats what made the se draft such an abomination on this forum. its really not a bad ride. yes, mash is severely overpriced and its not like anyone buying them has any plans to do road riding/serious track competition, just for fun.

there are literally no reviews on the frame or any feedback (only one via google search).
I know they are hard to come by but if anyone on here owns it please share some insights.
1. How do you like the frame vs steel?
2. Does the pursuit frame make you accelerate faster?

- my mash used to be my favorite until i converted my steel lemond zurich. i actually like my lemond better, it's lighter and rides smoother
- this is not real "pursuit" geometry, does not make me any faster. i like the way it looks.
- welds not so nice, otherwise quality is fine
- mines is built w/ heavy wheels, not super light. my setup of wheels, bars and cranks makes it feel stiff

Does it really matter if I said **** about the MASH and they are as worthless as pennies? I mean, really, if you know you love your bike, and you ride it everyday and enjoy everytime you're on the bike...don't give a **** what anyone thinks about it.
