This is from last weekend's trip to the Basalt, CO and the Frying Pan River (and really just an excuse to show the big rainbow I caught)

^^^ Nice moto and bird shots!

I ended up at a conservatory again, this time without my favorite flower lens. Can't say that I'm too disappointed with how this turned out, but the Contax Zeiss 50/1.7 is certainly less flexible than preferred.

Hi Clemsongirl - Gray Jays are northern boreal forest birds and Algonquin Park is one of the southernmost places they can be found. They have been studied there for over 40 years. The colour combinations of the bands allow each individual to be identified. They are declining in the park - maybe because warmer temperatures cause their hoarded food to spoil during the winter.

I've read a few times while learning photography that you should find the type of photography your good at and stick to that and not try to master everything. Motorcycle racing is a subject I know well but love seeing architecture shots and I just cant see angles and lines like other people and frame it which really sucks for me. You seem to have an eye for it I like seeing here.

The Australian Pardalotes or Peep Wren. Not long out of the nest.

There was 3 of them, they spent all day at an old truck mirror mesmerized by there own good looks. Very easy to photograph.

Great shots JB. A friend of mine laughed at me a while back when I told him that I'm not sure I want to travel to Australia or SE Asia because it would be so frustrating trying to identify the birds and even their families. I just have no idea where a Fairy Wren or a Peep Wren fits into the overall scheme of things!
